Week 14–Fall

So, I realize that fall officially starts in a few more weeks, but I feel like fall starts with the new school year, so we spent his week talking about fall.  We’re using Fall by Mary L. Meyer as our “information” book (Boy Wonder’s word).  For fiction we are using Lois Lenski’s Now It’s Fall.  Both books are serving their purposes.  They introduce a variety of topics that we are going to dig into more deeply over the next few months.  Our project this week is a hand print wreath.  Ours didn’t turn out nearly as cute as the original, but it still makes me smile.  I did both kids’ handprints ad put them into this wreath.  I don’t have any fake leaves, so I just left them off, at least for now.  Our paint faded into the paper, but, still cute enough for this mama.

Here’s Boy Wonder’s journal page.  It was too cute not to share.  It’s a picture of Big Papa jumping in the leaves.
